A Brief History

L-Systems have been invented by Aristid Lindenmayer in 1968. The biologist Lindenmayer found a way to formalize the plant growth by describing some rules. These descriptions are also very useful and suitable for implementing them in computers. Lindenmayer's explanations and formulas are now known as parallel rewriting systems or L-Systems (Lindenmayer Systems).
